O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 17.02.2024, wherein, the petitioner is seeking for issuing Revised Pension Payment order in order to avail of certain benefits.

2.Heard Mr.B.Thirumalai, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he had put in 28 years of service in the respondent Corporation and he attained superannuation on 31.10.2016. The petitioner was also receiving pension from November 2016 onwards. The pension payment order was served on the petitioner only on 26.09.2018. The petitioner was requesting the respondent to issue a Revised Pension Payment order by mentioning the revised pension amount in order to avail of medical, insurance and other benefits. The representation made by the petitioner did not evoke any response. Therefore, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 17.02.2024 and deal with the same on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision in issuing the Revised Pension Payment order, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. 6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
