Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to renovate the Government buses which has not been properly maintained to ensure safe journey of the general public and take necessary action to stop the persons hanging near the steps in the Government buses and provide proper transport facility to the people of Tamil Nadu within a time frame and file a final report.

O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner sought directions against the respondents for renovation of Government buses so that they are properly maintained and the journey of the general public is safe. He has sought restraint against persons doing foot board travelling. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2.We may notice that part of the relief deals with conduct of passengers and a sense of social responsibility required. Of course, the respondents would check the same as far as possible. In the counter-affidavit it is stated that buses are being maintained and action is being taken. Various measures have also been taken.
3.In any case, much water has flown since the petition was filed three years ago and the challenges would be different today.
4.None appears for the petitioner.
