..Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India seeking for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 15/07/2018, requesting to deposit the balance award amount of Rs.26,71,459 /- as on 26/11/2012 along with subsequent interest in LAOP No.63 of 1988 on the file of Principal Subordinate Court, Tiruvannamalai.

C O M M O N O R D E R These Writ Petitions have been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioners representations dated 03.07.2018 and 15.07.2018, requesting to deposit the balance award amounts of Rs.18,89,966/- and Rs.26,71,459 /- as on 26/11/2012 respectively, along with subsequent interest in L.A.O.P.No.63 of 1988 on the file of Principal Subordinate Court, Tiruvannamalai.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that despite the Award being passed as early as on 27.06.2007, in L.A.O.P.No.63 of 1988, awarding compensation for a sum of Rs.14.01.890/- and Rs.20,02,533/- respectively with 30% solatium and interest @ 9% per annum, the Revenue Divisional Officer has deposited only 40% of the Award amount and had not deposited 60% of the Award amount till date. Hence,this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that they have not released the amount due to code of conduct and would submit that the respondents are in process of disbursing the balance Award amount and after getting orders from the Authority, the same will be released within a period of eight weeks.

4. Heard both sides. Perused the records.

5. Considering the submission made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and considering the fact that the respondents are in process of disbursing the balance award amount, this Court directs the respondent to disburse the balance 60% of the Award amount, awarded by the Principal Subordinate Court, Tiruvannamalai along with interest, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. These Writ Petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs. 01-04-2026 arr
