O R D E R
The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to dispose of their representation dated 07.10.2010 seeking alternative house sites to them. 2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, the 172 families including the petitioners herein, had been evicted and their houses had also been demolished by the officials belonging to the Highways department for the purpose of construction of over bridge, on the assurance that they will be paid compensation and they will also be provided alternative house sites. However, no compensation was paid and no alternative site was given to them. Hence, this writ petition. 3.Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, who fairly submitted that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioners, if not already considered, on merits.
4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated 07.10.2010, if not disposed of earlier, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
