ORDER

The petitioner claims to be the son of an agricultural farmer and hailing from a poor family. The petitioner, after completing his higher secondary education, aspired to pursue B.E., (Civil Engineering). In the counselling conducted by the Anna University, Chennai on 19.06.2014, the petitioner participated and allotted E.G.S. Pillai Engineereing College, Natapattinam. After joining the college, the petitioner could not pay the fees owing to poor economic background and therefore, he applied for an educational loan with the second respondent bank on 03.12.2014. According to the petitioner, he met the officials of the second respondent bank on several occasion and requested to process the application submitted by him for educational loan, however, such application of the petitioner has not been processed so far. I heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials placed on record. In Page No.6 of the typed set of papers, the petitioner has enclosed a copy of the loan application submitted by him to the second respondent bank and it was signed by him on 08.12.2014. The learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that so far, the application of the petitioner was neither entertained nor rejected by the second respondent bank.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents/bank would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner on 08.12.2014 seeking educational loan will be processed and appropriate orders will be passed expeditiously. The said statement of the learned counsel for the respondents is recorded.

In the light of the above statement of the learned counsel for the respondents, the second respondent bank is directed to process the educational loan application dated 08.12.2014 of the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders thereon on merits within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
