O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN,J) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed, by the mother of the detenue, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the 1st respondent police, to produce the petitioner's daughter, namely, Vendaa, aged about 28 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner has stated that, on 21.03.2016, the detenue had gone missing. Therefore, the petitioner had preferred a complaint before the 1st respondent police, on 26.03.2016. Since, no effective steps have been taken by the 1st respondent police, to trace the detenue, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition, before this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. From the records available, it is noted that in the complaint lodged by the petitioner, dated 26.03.2016, she had stated that the detenue, namely, Vendaa, had gone away with the 2nd respondent.

4. Mr.V.M.R.Rajentren, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent, had submitted, on instructions, that the petitioner had lodged a complaint before the 1st respondent, on 26.03.2016. He had further submitted that necessary steps would be taken by the 1st respondent police, to trace the detenue, based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner on 26.03.2016.

5. In view of the said submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed. However, the 1st respondent police shall continue the investigation to trace the detenue, based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, on 26.03.2016, and shall take necessary steps, in accordance with law.
