By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner claims that he is the Muthawalli of Nawab Walaja Maqbira Mosque Wakf, which is a registered and notified Wakf under the supervisory control of the respondent and according to him, the properties belonging to the said Wakf, are under threat of encroachment. The petitioner has further submitted that in order of safeguard the interest of the properties belonging to the said Wakf, it would be better to lease out the same and therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 28.05.2016 to the respondent seeking permission of the respondent to lease out the Wakf properties and since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition.

Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Lakshminarayanan, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent / Wakf Board. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 28.05.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
