O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN,J) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed, by the father of the detenue, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondent police to produce the petitioner's daughter, namely, A.Lavanya, aged about 18 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner has stated that, he is a Building Contractor and he is in construction business. While so, his daughter, namely, Lavanya, who was studying in the 1st year B.C.A. course in Janaki MGR College, R.A.Puram, Chennai-600 028, had gone missing, from 24.03.2016. Therefore, the petitioner had lodged a complaint before the respondent police, on 24.03.2016, and the said complaint was registered as "Girl Missing" case, in Crime No.605 of 2016. steps have been taken by the respondent police, to trace the detenue, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition, before this Court.

3. Mr.V.M.R.Rajentren, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent, had submitted, on instructions, that the respondent police would take all necessary steps, to trace the detenue, viz., Lavanya, based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, dated 24.03.2016.

4. In view of the said submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent police, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the present Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, the respondent police shall continue the investigation to trace the detenue, and shall take necessary steps, in accordance with law.
