Respondents PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the proceedings in the Syndicate of the Madras University viz., third respondent in TABLE ITEM No.57 (Sec.F1(A) Syndicate dated 23.08.2022 (Panel for Promotion to the cadre of Assistant Registrar for the year 2022-2023) and quash the said panel containing the names of respondents 4 to 11.

O R D E R
The present Writ Petition has been filed challenging the proceedings of the third respondent dated 23.08.2022 thereby, preferred the panel for promotion to the cadre of Assistant Registrar for the year 2022-2023.
2. The very same issue has already been dealt with by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in batch of cases in W.A.No.997 of 2018, etc. 2/4
batch, dated 08.03.2024 and it is held that if the candidates acquired degree by way of adopting the method of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern, they shall be considered by the University for promotion based on their seniority.
3. Therefore, the relief challenging the panel for promotion cannot be sustained and hence, the Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed. The petitioners are at liberty to make their representation in order to satisfy the criteria as held by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court and on receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law as held by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
