By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondent to issue patta to the petitioner's property situated at Plot No.7 in Survey Nos.1298 and 1299 measuring an extent of 1560 sq.ft at Mohan Nagar, Madhavaram Village, previously Ambattur Taluk, now Madhavaram Taluk within the Registration of Chennai North and Sub Registration District of Madhavaram (previously Sembium Sub Registration Office), Thiruvallur District by considering petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2025 and online application dated 18.06.2025.
3. It is stated that the petitioner purchased a property viz., a plot bearing Plot No.7, comprised in S.Nos.1298 and 1299 measuring an extent of 1560 sq.ft., situated at Mohan Nagar, Madhavaram Village, previously Ambattur Taluk now 2/6
Madhavaram Taluk from one G.Srinivasan by virtue of a Sale Deed bearing Doc.No.5876 of 2004, registered on the file of the Sub Registrar's Office, Chennai. It is submitted that as on date the petitioner is in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the subject property.
3.1. It is submitted that the petitioner decided to settle the property in favour of his younger daughter. For this, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 14.05.2025, seeking to issue patta over the subject property. The petitioner had taken out an online application on 18.06.2025 vide Application No.2025/0153/02/032016 and paid necessary fees to the respondent for mutation of patta in his favour. However, nothing has been progressed by the respondent thereafter. Hence, this writ petition.

At the outset, learned Government Advocate for the respondent would submit that the representation dated 14.05.2025 and online application dated 18.06.2025, made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent, to consider the representation and online application dated 14.05.2025 and 18.06.2025 respectively, on own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the matter and it is open to the respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
6. This writ petition, is thus, disposed of. No costs. 18.07.2025 Speaking (or) Non Speaking Order arb 4/6
