Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus call for the entire records leading to the detention of the petitioner's husband Rajan son of Manthiramoorthy, male, aged about 29 years, is presently lodged in the Central Prison, Vellore at Vellore and has been detained under Act 14/82 as a "Sand Offender" vide detention order dated 27.09.2021 made in D.O.No.82/2021-C2 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the body and person of the said detenu before this Court

and thereafter set him at liberty from the Central Prison, Vellore at Vellore.

ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in Memo D.O.No.82/2021-C2 dated 27.09.2021 detaining her husband as "Sand Offender", as contemplated under Section 2(gg) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.5803, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 26.11.2021 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
