ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble M.S.Ramesh J.) This petition has been filed to extend the interim bail granted to the detenu, Sankar @ Jaisankar, Convict No.3135, S/o.Mani, confined at Central Prison, Kalapet, Puducherry in WMP.No.6021 of 2025 in WP.No.5469 of 2025, order dated 28.03.2025 from 27.06.2025, pending disposal of the above Writ Petition. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that when the petitioner is under incarceration for about 25 years, the Government of Puducherry had rejected his plea. He submitted that all the authorities have favourably recommended the premature release of the petitioner, but the Government alone has rejected it. He further submitted that the procedure for premature release is still under process. Therefore, he seeks an extension of the interim bail, which expires on 26.06.2025. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner has been complying with the conditions regularly imposed by this Court in its order dated 28.03.2025.
4.Taking note of the premature release granted to the co-accused, based on certain orders passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, this Court had granted interim bail to the petitioner for a period of three months. Since the said period is due to expire
