Respondents PRAYER:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Declaration, declaring that the action of the respondents in not granting promotion to the petitioners 2 to 9 to the next higher post/grade with effect from the due date as illegal, arbitrary and unjust and consequently direct the respondents 1 and 2 to issue orders granting promotion to the petitioners 2 to 9 with effect from the due dates, with arrears and all other consequential benefits.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has given a letter dated 18.03.2009 to the Registry that the fourth petitioner is withdrawing from the writ petition. The fourth petitioner is present in Court. He confirmed the request for withdrawal. Hence, the writ petition shall be treated as having been withdrawn only in so far as fourth petitioner is concerned. No costs.
