1.Selvakumar 2.Thangamani (Set Exparte before the Tribunal) ... Respondents This case came up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. The learned counsel for the Appellant Mr.Suresh Srinivasan, Insurance Company official Mr.G.B.Saravanabhavan, the learned counsel for the first respondent, Mr.Mira Aurobindo Cumar for Ramya V.Rao are present. No appearance for the second respondent. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows:

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT Both the parties and their respective counsel are present. 2.The above appeal filed by the Insurance Company challenging the quantum of Rs.22,27,800/- awarded by the Tribunal. 3.Parties have now arrived at compromise, and now agreed to pay a sum of Rs.24,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Four Lakhs only) in full quit to the claimant with in a period of eight (8) weeks from today. 4.The Insurance Company shall deposit a sum of Rs.24,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Four Lakhs only) less the amount already deposited before the Tribunal, if any, within a period of eight (8) weeks from today, failing which the Insurance Company agreed to pay interest at the rate of 7.5% per annum. On such deposit, the claimant shall be entitled to withdraw the entire amount.

5. The Tribunal is directed to follow the usual mode of payment on proper identification of the party concerned in accordance with the terms of the award without insisting on any formal permission petition.
