The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Section 5(l), 6 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act 2012, Section 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.12 of 2022, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner fell in love with the defacto complainant's daughter. On the pretext of marriage, the petitioner had committed sexual assault on the victim on several occasions. Hence, the complaint.

4. A perusal of the statement recorded under Section 164 of Cr.P.C. reveals that on the pretext of marriage, the petitioner had committed penetrative sexual assault on the victim girl, aged about 17 years. The petitioner has also threatened the victim girl not to discloses about this incident to any one.

5. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner had committed a very serious and heinous offence as against the victim and as custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
