PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to take further action on petitioner's complaint dated 28.06.2024 to hold a preliminary enquiry into the allegations.

ORDER

The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) makes a statement that the petitioner has preferred a complaint before the 1st respondent, alleging certain corruption at the Block level as against the Block Development Official and others in Kallakurichi District. As per the protocol which the 1st respondent adopts, the complaint has been forwarded to the District Collector.

2.While the Writ is laid for Mandamus, and since there appears to be some movement forward on the side of the 1st respondent, this Court considers for the complaint to reach its logical end, the District Collector, Kallakurichi is 2/4

also in the party array. Hence, this Court suo motu impleaded the District Collector, Kallakurichi as the 5th respondent. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) informs the Court that the 5th respondent has now constituted a committee and seeks two months time to complete the investigation. The said statement of the learned Prosecutor is hereby recorded.

4.Inasmuch as the relief sought by the petitioner has been favourably addressed by the 5th respondent, no further order is required to be passed in this case.
