This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking protection alleging that the police is harassing him and his wife under the guise of investigating the complaint.

2. It is alleged that the respondent police is interfering in the civil dispute between the family members and trying to grab the property of the petitioner.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police on getting instructions from the Investigating Officer submits that the complaint given by Mahalingam who is the father of this petitioner been registered in C.S.R.No.136 of 2024 on 23.07.2024 and this petitioner is called for enquiry. Instead of participating in the enquiry, the petitioner has filed this petition alleging the police is harassing him and his wife by calling them in different phone numbers during late hours which is not factually correct. He further states that dispute between father and son which requires preliminary enquiry, for which, the appearance of the petitioner is required.

4. Considering the facts, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner herein to appear before the respondent police on receipt of the summon for enquiry. The respondent police shall not disturb the petitioner during late hours, but summon the petitioner and conduct the enquiry in accordance with law and dispose of the complaint based on the information collected during the enquiry. 02.08.2024 Vv To
