O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN, J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed, praying that, this Court may be pleased to direct the 1st respondent to secure the daughter of the petitioner, namely, Vijayalakshmi, aged about 19 years, from the illegal custody of the 2nd respondent and produce her before this Court and to hand over her custody to the petitioner.

The petitioner has stated that the detenue, who is her daughter, is in the illegal custody of the 2nd respondent, from 16.04.2016. Therefore, the petitioner had preferred a complaint, on 17.04.2016, to the 1st respondent. The said complaint had been registered, in F.I.R.No.140 of 2016, dated 17.04.2016. Since no effective steps had been taken to trace the detenue, the petitioner had filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent had submitted, on instructions, that the 1st respondent would take necessary steps to trace the detenue and would take appropriate steps in accordance with law. 4.

In view of the said submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing on behalf of the respondent, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in the present Habeas Corpus Petition. Accordingly, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
