Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1, 3 and 4 to act upon the petitioner's complaint dated 03.03.2023, 08.03.2023 and 20.03.2023 to initiate appropriate action against the 5th Respondent and also erring officials for their gross negligence in their official public duties within a stipulated time, As directed by this Honourable Court. O R D E R
With reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition, the learned counsel for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board would submit that the electricity service connection transferred based on the bogus documents in favour of the 5th respondent, was cancelled by the authority. The name of the writ petitioner has been restored in the Electricity Board records and thus, the grievances are redressed. 2/5

The learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that the petitioner has given a criminal complaint to the Commissioner of Police regarding the transfer of the electricity service connection, based on the bogus documents, in favour of the 5th respondent, and the petitioner has to approach the competent Criminal Court of law for registering a private complaint for initiation of action against the persons who were involved in submission of bogus documents before the Electricity Board.
3. Thus, the writ petitioner is at liberty to initiate all appropriate actions under the criminal law by approaching the jurisdictional Court.
4. With this liberty, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. (sha) 18.04.2024 Index : Yes Speaking Order 3/5
