O R D E R
The Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the second respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner by taking appropriate action on the petitioner's complaint dated 03.05.2025.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the private respondents herein under the guise of securing job for the petitioner's grandson in the Chennai High Court, received a sum of Rs.4 lakhs from the petitioner in the year 2018. Even after three years, they went on to give several excuses for the delay. After realizing that the petitioner has been cheated, the petitioner preferred a complaint before Chozhatharam Police Station on 13.07.2022 and subsequently, the police inquired the fifth respondent as a result, he gave a written undertaking before the police to return the money in three installments. However, he did not return the money. Thereafter, the petitioner preferred a complaint on 21.09.2022 before the first respondent and based on which, on 24.09.2022, the second respondent, summoned the 4th respondent, 2/6
however, they left the other three accused. During enquiry, the 4th respondent stated that she received only Rs.10,000/- and thereafter the police asked the petitioner to approach the Court stating that it is a civil case. Subsequently, when the petitioner questioned the 4th respondent, she threatened the petitioner with dire consequences and now the petitioner is under life threat. Hence, the learned counsel requested to direct the respondent police to register a case and to give police protection.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, already FIR has been registered in Crime No.422 of 2025 for the offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 506(i) and 420 IPC and the investigation is in progress.
4. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation and file the charge sheet within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Further, the respondent police is directed to find out as to whether there is any life threat to the petitioner and if so, give necessary police protection to the petitioner.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.
