This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation and file a final report based on the petitioner's complaint dated 15.09.2022.

2.The petitioner has filed a complaint dated 15.09.2022 against the 3rd respondent alleging that he is attempting to alienate the property by registering a sale deed in his favour using fabricated documents. The petitioner also exposed the same before the Sub-Registrar's Office and based on the petitioner's complaint, the Sub-Registrar lodged the complaint before

the respondent Police on 15.09.2022. The complaint has been forwarded by the Sub-Registrar on the ground that he suspected that the 3rd respondent has presented false documents before him for registration. Based on the complaint given by the Sub-Registrar, Saidapet South Chennai, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.41 of 2023 for the alleged offences under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 511 IPC. 3.Now, it is the grievance of the petitioner that, despite registration of FIR, nothing is moving further and investigation has not been completed. Whereas, according to the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 3 and 4, the matter is only civil in nature.

4.Be that as it may. Having registered an FIR, it is for the Investigation Officer to investigate the matter as per law and if he finds that any offence is made out as per the materials collected by him, he has to file a final report and if he finds that no case is made out for prosecution, he has to submit a closure report before the Court. Therefore, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.41 of 2023 and file a final report either positively or negatively within a period of four

months from the date of this order.
