By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.
2. The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the service benefits due to the petitioner based on the representation dated 10.02.2025 submitted before them within a stipulated time.
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner joined in the Respondents-Department on 02.06.1979 and subsequently, he was promoted to the post of Assistant. Thereafter, on account of his unauthorised absence and due to unsoundness of mind, he was terminated from service during 2005. It is the submission of the petitioner that though he was terminated during 2005, no terminal benefits were settled to him and that he is suffering from poverty. Hence, claiming the terminal benefits, he has sent a representation on 10.02.2025 to the Supervising Engineer, Public Works Department, Water Resource Department, Project Division, Vellore Division and the copy of the same was marked to the respondents 2 and 4 herein and such representation is yet to be considered by them.
5. At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation, within a reasonable time.
6. In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider 3/6
the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 30.06.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order /Non Speaking Order dm 4/6
