The writ petition has been filed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.06.2025 and direct the respondents to superannuate the petitioner on his attaining 65 years on 31.08.2028 as per the AICTE regulation F.NO.61-1/RIFD/7 th CPC/2016-2017 dated 01.03.2019.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the AICTC has given a regulation in F.NO.61-1/RIFD/7 th CPC/2016-2017, dated 01.03.2019 enhancing the retirement age from 62 to 65. In this connection one

Dr.S.Kothandaraman and Dr.A.V.Raviprakash filed Writ Petitions in W.P.Nos.17918 and 17929 of 2021, wherein this Court has held that AICTC Regulations issued under the Statute, have come into force under the Central Act. Therefore, they are entitled for enhancement of retirement age.

3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would vehemently submit that the Government has taken a policy decision that the retirement age should be 62 years. Apart from that, the learned Standing Counsel would fairly submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time. Therefore, he prayed for dismissal of the present petition.

4. I have given my anxious consideration to the submissions made by both sides.

5. Though there is a disputed fact in the present writ petition, the learned Standing Counsel would fairly submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation according to its own merits and in accordance with law.

6. In view of such submissions, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.06.2025 according to its own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed. 08-07-2025 gd Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes
