The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 09.06.2023 for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 354A of IPC and Section 9(m), 10 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 read with Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 in Crime No.9 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. This is a second bail petition filed by the petitioner. This Court on 19.07.2023 dismissed the earlier bail petition finding that, the petitioner who is aged 57 years has committed sexual assault on the victim girl, who was only 10 years old.

3. Considering seriousness of the offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. However, this Court directs the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for exclusive Trial of cases under POCSO Act, Villupuram to dispose of the case in Spl.S.C.No.98 of 2023 as expeditiously as possible.
