Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a WRIT OF MANDAMUS, directing the 1st and 2nd Respondents to consider the representation dated 5-1-2021 regarding sanction of family pension to the petitioner from the date of her eligibility along with arrears 1/5

ORDER

This petitioner is an unmarried daughter of the deceased father P.S.Chittibabu has filed this Writ Petition seeking direction against the 1st and 2nd Respondents to consider her representation dated 05-01-2021 to pay the family pension. Consequent to the death of her father, her mother was getting the family pension till her death.

2. Heard, Mr.V.Shanmugasundaram, learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record. Though notice has been served upon the respondents, no one has made appearance for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an unmarried daughter of the deceased P.S.Chittibabu and she applied for a family pension. She received a communication in April 2013, informing her to obtain a certificate from Thasildhar and sent it to the Public Health Department of Chennai Corporation. She also sent a representation to the Chief Minister Special Cell for remedy and received a letter from the Department of Water supply and Municipal Administration. Despite four years, no reply or order has been 2/5

received. Hence the Writ Petition.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, this Writ Petition is allowed and this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.01.2021 and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
