PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st to 4th respondents to dispose of the petitioner representation dated 16.06.2025 for to re-conduct the oral and practical examination again for the petitioner with a highly experienced postgraduate teacher from any medical college in Chennai within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The main prayer sought for in the present writ petition is that to reconduct the oral and practical examination again for the petitioner in any other medical college except Coimbatore.

2. When the writ petition was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent fairly submitted that it is not possible to re-conduct the oral or practical examination for the petitioner. However, the petitioner is at liberty to participate in the forthcoming examinations at any center, other than Coimbatore, according to her preference.

3. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner on instructions from the petitioner submitted that the petitioner prefers to write her examination at Madurai.

4. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions and also perused the materials available on record.

5. In view of the above submission, without going to the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the first respondent to permit the petitioner to appear for the forthcoming oral and practical examinations commencing from October 2025 at Madurai. Though the 3/6

petitioner is permitted to take part in the said examination at Madurai, it is made clear that this order shall not be construed as expression of any opinion against the fifth respondent.
