Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, seeking for an issuance of writ of mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent District Collector to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.06.2025 submitted to take the 6 vacancies which were kept vacant and unfilled for the post of Deputy Tahsildars, into account for finalizing the "Panel of Deputy Tasildhars fit for the post of Tahsildar" and grant of promotion to the post of Tahsildar. ORDER
The writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.06.2025.
The main grievance of the petitioners is that they were wrongly placed in the seniority list for the panel of the year 2021 instead of 2020. Hence for refixing the seniority, the petitioners had given representation dated 24.06.2025 and the same is pending with the second respondent.
Learned Government Advocate would contend that a batch of writ petition was filed in W.P.No.9322 of 2020 and status quo order is operating against the 2020 panel. Therefore, the present writ petition is to be dismissed. However, he would fairly submit that they would consider the petitioners representation within a reasonable time. 4.
In view of the above submission of the learned Government Advocate, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioners representation dated 24.06.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
In the result, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 02.07.2025 (2/2) veda Index:Yes/No Speaking order/Non-speaking order
