Earlier, this Court by an order dated 09.09.2022 disposed of the above Criminal Original Petition and directed the 1st respondent to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.1 of 2019 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of that order. Since the said investigation could not be completed within the time stipulated by this court, the petitioners police 1 and 2 herein sought for extension of time.

2. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, learned counsel for petitioners police 1 and 2 appeared and submitted that so far they have enquired 5 other witnesses and collected 9 documents from the bank, however, they have to obtain a final audit report from the Auditor. Hence, the investigation could not be completed within a stipulated time. Therefore, he prayed to extend the time granted by this court. 1/3

3. The learned counsel for respondent appeared and raised objections stating that already time granted by this court is lapsed, even then, so far, the final report was not filed. Hence, he prayed to dismiss this petition.

4. Considering the request made by the petitioners police 1 and 2 herein, this Court is inclined to extend time finally for the period of eight weeks to submit a final report from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
