This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the First Information Report based on the petitioner's complaint dated 26.08.2021 and thereafter, file a final report.

2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint against her in-laws on various offences, including dowry harassment and cruelty. The complaint was lodged on 26.08.2021 and CSR No.283 of 2021 was assigned on 11.09.2021 and thereafter, no action has been taken so far. Hence, the above petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) has submitted that the complaint dis-closes it is a matrimonial dispute. Hence, the second respondent assigned CSR.No.283 of 2021 and forwarded the complaint to the Social welfare Officer on 11.09.2021. On receipt of report from the Social Welfare Officer, further action would be taken.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is stated that the petitioner's complaint was forwarded to the Social Welfare Officer on 11.09.2021, but it is almost two months, no action has been taken.

5. Considering the submission and on perusal of the materials, the Social Welfare Officer, Cuddalore is directed to complete the enquiry within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and send a report to the second respondent. Thereafter, the second respondent is directed to take appropriate action in accordance with law.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
