This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 05.06.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.160 of 2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa), 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He also submitted that the petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence, whereas, he has been in custody from 05.06.2024. Hence, he prayed for bail.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner/accused was found to be in illegal possession of 110 litres of illicit arrack. He also submitted that 3 previous cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner. He further submitted that the case is under investigation and also Goondas proposal is also pending against the petitioner, hence, he prayed for dismissal of the petition.

4. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the investigation is still pending and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
