O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of the Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to update the patta of the petitioner online in respect of the property in Survey No.118/2 at Old No.114/7, New No.31, Periyar Padhai, Choolaimedu, Chennai - 600 094.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is the owner of the property by virtue of the registered settlement deed dated 07.11.2012. Pursuant to the execution of the settlement deed, the petitioner has also applied for patta and it was granted in his favour by the Tahsildar, Egmore - Nungambakkam Taluk, on 23.09.2017. The petitioner made representation to the respondent to update his patta online. Since the same was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3. Heard Mr. Jayaprakash.R, learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr. S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited request that has been sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representations made by the petitioner on 23.01.2018 and 26.06.2019 and appropriate steps shall be immediately taken to update the patta of the petitioner online, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and a copy of this order.

5.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
