The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondents police for alleged offences punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 504 of IPC and Sections 3, 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and Sections 3, 4 of Muslim Women (Protection of rights on marriage) Act, in Crime No.0221 of 2022 on the file of the 1st respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant got married to the 1st petitioner and her parents had given dowry. It is further alleged that the petitioners herein were not satisfied with the quantum of dowry, as a result of which, they have abused the defacto complainant and demanded more dowry and threatened the defacto complainant with Talaq. Thereafter, the 1st petitioner had pronounced triple Talaq. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that false complaint has been given against the petitioner and he has nothing to do with the said allegations. He further submitted that Interstate Anticipatory bail may be granted to him to enable him to move the appropriate jurisdictional Court in Uttar Pradesh for necessary relief.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to grant inter-state interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner for a period of six weeks from today to enable him to move the concerned Court.

5. Accordingly, interim interstate anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner for a period of six weeks, on condition that the petitioner shall surrender before the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town, Chennai, within a period of fifteen days from the date on which the order copy made ready and the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the said learned Magistrate. Further, within four weeks from the date of execution of bail bond, the petitioner shall approach the competent Court in Uttar Pradesh and seek appropriate relief. 02.09.2022 Lpp
