O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for directing the respondent to calculate and settle the interest at the rate of 9% per annum from 01.06.2022 to 24.05.2024 on belated settlement Contributory Pension Scheme amount (CPS) of Rs.26,25,410/-.

2. The petitioner was working as Deputy Registrar in the respondent and he was attained age of superannuation on 31.05.2022. Further, the contributory pension scheme was settled to the petitioner only on 24.05.2024 after two years of his retirement. Therefore, the petitioner is entitled to claim interest on the belated settlement of the retirement benefits, which is payable by the respondent to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner submitted representation before the respondent and the same were not considered so far.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court 2/4

directs the respondent to calculate and settle the interest at the rate of 6% per annum from 01.06.2022 to 24.05.2024 on belated settlement Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) of Rs.26,25,410/- within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
