O R D E R

(The Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble The Chief Justice) The petitioner claims benefit for rehabilitating persons who have encroached on Government properties and river banks. It is alleged that there are vacant flats for such rehabilitation. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. It is trite to say that the number of encroachments is far exceeding the number of persons who can be rehabilitated. As to which area needs to be cleared first and rehabilitation carried out is a matter of policy decision. Not only that, the petitioner seeks to suggest as if the eligibility norms would also require to be varied which would not be permissible.

3. We thus leave it to the Government Authorities to see as to whom and how the rehabilitation process takes place by allotment of flats.

4. The writ petition is thus closed, leaving the parties to bear their own costs.
