ORDER
Ms.Kanimozhi Mathi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was appointed on 04.11.2013 as Senior Executive (Operations) for the terminal of Tuticorin Port as Coordination of vessel and gate operations during loading and unloading of the containers. The petitioner was terminated by the respondent, vide order dated 20.04.2016. Thereafter, the petitioner had issued legal notice to the respondent on 26.04.2016 making a request to revoke the termination and to permit the petitioner to work on regular basis. Despite receipt of the legal notice, there is no response from the respondent.
2. The Ministry of Labour, Central Government, by its order dated 25.10.2017, has referred the dispute to the Tribunal. The dispute was numbered as I.D.No.97 of 2017. The request of the petitioner is that since I.D.No.97 of 2017 is pending for more than 8 years, the only prayer for the petitioner is to conclude the proceeding on the time bound manner.
3. Mr.N.Nehru, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the 2/5
respondent and submits that they will co-operate with the ID Court in disposing the case as it is one of the oldest case.
4. Without going into the merits of the case, the Tribunal is directed to dispose of the case within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and this Court request the Tribunal not to make an application for extension of time.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
