O R D E R

The petitioners herein apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for offences punishable under Sections 406, 420 of IPC and 4(1), 76(1) of The Chit Funds Act, 1982, in Crime No.03 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, and therefore seek anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners, ranked as A4 and A8, allegedly joined hands with the other accused in conducting a chit fund business and collected a sum of Rs.3,43,47,050/- from 120 victims, subsequently cheating them. Hence, the present case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the first petitioner is the wife of A1 and has already separated from the family. A4 is the father of the first petitioner. It was further submitted that they have been falsely implicated in this case and were not directly involved in the chit fund business. Therefore, a prayer was made for the grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that there are specific averments regarding the involvement of these petitioners or the other accused. Further, A1, A2, A3, and A7 were arrested and released only on statutory bail, while the other accused are still absconding.

5. The investigation further reveals that all these persons were actively involved in the financial business, and after misappropriating the collected amount, they absconded.

6. Considering that a huge sum of Rs.3,43,47,050 /- has been fraudulently collected from 120 victims, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 14-10-2025 nvi
