The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs @ Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.562 of 2022, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was in possession of 1.100 kgs of ganja. Hence, the case.

3. There is no representation for the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner was in possession of 1.100 kgs of ganja. He further submits that this Court, taking into consideration that the petitioner has got four previous cases of similar nature had dismissed the earlier anticipatory bail petition. Hence, he would seek for dismissal of the anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record including the FIR.

6. Taking into account the nature of offence and the previous antecedents of the petitioner and also of the fact that the earlier applications for anticipatory bail were dismissed and there is no change of circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 31.08.2023 drl
