ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed for a direction to respondents to forthwith provide Low Tension Electricity Service Connection to petitioner's Building bearing Door No.12/13 Second Floor situated at Old Trunk Road, ESA Pallavaram, Chennai-600 043 based on application of petitioner dated 16.04.2026 in Application ref. No.200092540426351.
2. Petitioner would submit that after completion of construction of the above mentioned building as per the approved plan, his lessor entered into a Lease Agreement with him on 09.02.2026 for the said building. Petitioner filed application dated 16.04.2026 seeking electricity service connection for the second floor of the said building and also paid necessary charges. The said application is still pending.
3. At the outset, it was submitted by learned State Counsel for respondents that they would consider petitioner's application dated 16.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court,
which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.
4. In view thereof, there shall be a direction to respondents, to consider petitioner's application dated 16.04.2026 on its own merits and provide electricity service connection, in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner, and any other interested party, within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case.
5. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
