... Respondents Prayer:- Contempt petition has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondents for having willfully and deliberately disobeyed the order of this Court passed in W.P.No.1360 of 2024 dated 24.10.2024.

ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for non compliance of the order dated 24.01.2024, passed by this Court in W.P.No.1360 of 2024, thereby directed the respondents to the pay the interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits to the petitioner at the rate of 6% per annum, within a period of eight weeks.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent submitted that the authorization for final statement of CPC account of the petitioner was received only on 16.03.2023. Thereafter, the petitioner was paid all benefits on 07.01.2024 along with interest upto 30.09.2023. Therefore, if at all any interest to be paid to the petitioner for the belated payment, she is entitled only from 01.10.2023 to 06.01.2024.

Considering the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent, the respondents are directed to pay interest for the belated payment from 01.10.2023 to 06.01.2024, to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
