Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to forthwith remove the encroachments on the public road in Survey No.282/1 leading to the agricultural lands and houses of the villagers of the Bondai Village, Thandarampattu Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 27.6.2016. (Order of the Court was delivered by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader representing the respondents.
2. The petitioner seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents herein to forthwith remove the encroachments on the public road in Survey No.282/1 leading to the agricultural lands and houses of the villagers of the Bondai Village, Thandarampattu Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 27.6.2016.
3. It appears that pursuant to the direction issued by the District Collector to the Revenue Divisional Officer already, the Revenue Divisional Officer, having noticed that encroachments are made in the poramboke land, is making attempts to remove the encroachments. In these circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of recording the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents that the revenue authorities would take care of the situation in accordance with law to protect the poramboke land by removing the encroachments.
