Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay the admitted amount of Rs.33,166/- to the 1st petitioner, Rs.31,838/- to the 2nd petitioner, Rs.28098/- to the 3rd petitioner, Rs.97,855/- to the 4th petitioner, Rs.20,438/- to the 5th petitioner and Rs.9002/- to the 6th petitioner by considering their representations towards Encashment of Earned Leave surrendered by the petitioners along with 12% interest per annum from the date of retirement within the time frame fixed by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay the admitted amount of Rs.33,166/- to the 1st petitioner, Rs.31,838/- to the 2nd petitioner, Rs.28098/- to the 3rd petitioner, Rs.97,855/- to the 4th petitioner, Rs.20,438/- to the 5th petitioner and Rs.9002/- to the 6th petitioner by considering their representations along with 12% interest per annum, within a stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have submitted representations to the respondents on various dates, seeking disbursement of Earned Leave surrenderex amounts. However, these representations are yet to be considered by the respondents.

3. At this juncture, Mr.M.Murali Vinodh, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, fairly submitted that the respondents are willing to consider the petitioners' representations and will pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and also perused the materials available on record.

5. In view of the said fair submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners representations and pass orders according to its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
