ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the request of the petitioner, for providing police protection in and around the temple premises of Arulmigu Mariamman Temple situated at Devendira Street, Singanallur, Coimbatore, from the sunrise in the morning of 07.07.2025 till the late evening of 09.07.2025.
2. Upon perusal of the representation that is made by the petitioner, on 27.05.2025, it can be gauged that the temple is in a dilapidated condition. Hence, due permission as per the Division Bench Judgment of this Court has been obtained from the appropriate authorities, including the State Level Expert Committee and the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department, the dates have been officially fixed for the removal of the idols from the old temple and for the establishment and consecration of the Balalayam, which will take place from 07.07.2025 to 09.07.2025. Though the petitioner has approached this Court at the last minute, considering the plea made in the representation, and
taking note of the fact that as many as twelve permissions have been granted by various authorities, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions: (i) The respondent - Police shall consider the representation of the petitioner and also confirm with the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department that the Balalayam is being established and the idols are being removed from the old temple, as per law and if there is no other impediment, shall extend such protection as may be necessary. Even if the work could not be completed on the dates mentioned by the petitioner, he can very well intimate the alternate days to the respondent - Police, as may be agreed by the parties;
(ii) The parties shall act on the website uploaded copy of this order, without waiting for the certified copy;
