ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking a direction against the second respondent/ the Tahsildar, Tahsildar Office, Cheyyur, Kancheepuram District to issue patta in favour of the petitioner by considering an application dated 21.10.2016. The petitioner claims that he had purchased a portion of a property by a sale deed registered as Document No. 996 of 2000 in the Sub Registrar Office, Chengalpattu on 04.08.2000 and he had become the owner of the property in S.No. 339/9C, 339/10C at Vettaikarakuppam Village, measuring total extent of 0.10 cents. The petitioner applied for patta. The second /Tahsildar had issued a letter in December 2016 directing the Revenue Inspector to inspect the property and had also given a report on 26.11.2016 observing that the petitioner is in possession and had also constructed a building and therefore if other aspects are satisfied, can grant with patta. However, the Tahsildar has not taken any further action necessitating the petitioner to give a representation and then to file the present Writ Petition.

It would advisable, the petitioner applies afresh through online in proper manner for grant of patta with respect to the property already mentioned and thereafter, the Tahsildar on the basis of the necessary records pass necessary orders may also keeping in mind the report of the Revenue Inspector dated 26.11.2016 and do the needful within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of the application filed by the petitioner herein. 4.

With the above said observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
