O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondent to give necessary police protection for temple festival to conduct the cultural programs on the eve of Aadi festival in Arulmigu Sridevi Periyapalayathyamman Temple situate at No.I, Amman Koil Street, Vadapalani, Chennai - 600 026, scheduled to be conducted from 09.08.2019 to 11.08.2019 between 07.00 p.m., and 10.00 p.m., based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.08.2019 in accordance with law. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Aadi festival in Arulmigu Sridevi Periyapalayathyamman Temple is being conducted from 09.08.2019 to 11.08.2019 between 07.00 p.m., and 10.00 p.m. The petitioner had given a representation dated 02.08.2019 to the respondent seeking for permission and the same has not been considered till date. 3.The learned Government Advocate would submit that the petitioner will have to abide by the conditions that are imposed by the respondent police, while conducting the procession. 4.Taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to direct the third respondent to grant permission and adequate police protection to conduct the cultural programs on the eve of Aadi festival in Arulmigu Sridevi Periyapalayathyamman Temple situate at No.I, Amman Koil Street, Vadapalani, Chennai - 600 026 scheduled to be conducted from 09.08.2019 to 11.08.2019 between 07.00 p.m., and 10.00 p.m.

5. It is made clear that the respondent police is at liberty to impose any conditions to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession and the petitioner is bound to comply with the same and the petitioner shall pay the necessary charges to the police for providing police protection.

6. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with the above direction.
