O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction directing the respondents to pay the compensation along with interest for the lands acquired from the petitioner.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's land was acquired for the purpose of widening the East Coast Road and subsequently, an award was also passed, but, inspite of repeated representations, so far, the compensation amount along with interest was not paid to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. Today, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that already the award amount of Rs.7,236/- was paid to the petitioner. At this https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that even though the compensation is paid, the respondents did not pay the interest for the same. Hence, the respondents may be directed to pay the interest.

4. Considering the above facts and circumstances, if the interest payable to the petitioner is not paid to him, it is open to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent seeking for interest within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and if any such representation is filed, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
