By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of Record Clerk in the existing vacancy in Erode District, in consideration of more than 30 years of service as Sweeper with 15 years of service in the Special Time Scale of pay, in accordance with the qualification of the Petitioner on par with similarly placed persons granted regular appointment/promotion, in consideration of representation submitted 2/6
by the Petitioner dated 02.05.2025 with all consequential and other attendant benefits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
4. The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was appointed as Part Time Sweeper in Local Library Authority, Erode District on 06.04.1993. It is the submission of the petitioner that inspite of having served for more than 30 years and having also been conferred with Special Time Scale of pay, she has not been considered for promotion. In this connection, she has sent a representation on 02.05.2025 and such representation is pending with the respondents. The learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the similarly placed persons have already been given promotion.
5. At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation according to it's own merits and in accordance with law, 3/6
within a reasonable time.

In such view of the submission, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 04.07.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order dm 4/6
