Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, their officers and subordinates, to strictly enforce the blocking of access and ensure that the anti islam film "Innocence of Muslims" is not accessible from India through electronic or other media in public interest.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner seeks strict enforcement of blocking of the access qua the film "Innocence of Muslims", which is alleged to be anti Islamic.

2. It is not in dispute that the film has been banned by the Government of India. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the ban, it is available on certain links, through YouTube.

3. The Government of India, to examine this aspect and make every endeavour to ensure that the ban is effective.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands closed with the aforesaid direction. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2012 is also closed.
