Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to provide potable water connection to the petitioner's house situate at No.2/404, Opp.to School, Ramachiampalayam, Karavazhi Madapur, Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District within a stipulated period. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsels appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner is seeking water supply from the third respondent Panchayat. He has paid the necessary fees as early as in the year 2014 and citing objection given by the brother of the petitioner, the third respondent has failed to give water service connection to the petitioner.

From the representation given by the petitioner to the third respondent, this Court finds that the petitioner has pointed out an alternate route to draw the pipe line passing through a public path way and village natham Survey No.302/1, which has nothing to do with the property of brother Shanmugam. While so, the third respondent ought to have explored the possible alternate route suggested by the petitioner to lay the pipe line instead of the earlier route mentioned. Hence, this Court issues a writ of Mandamus to the second and third respondents to consider the request of the petitioner to provide water service connection to the petitioner's house situate at No.2/404, Opp.to School, Ramachiampalayam, Karavazhi Madapur, Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District, taking note of the alternate route suggested by the petitioner.

4. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
