ORDER

M.S.RAMESH, J.

AND V.LAKSHMINARAYANAN, J.

Alleging that the petitioner's 28 years old daughter viz. Malathi had gone missing on 19.06.2025, and that she may be in the illegal custody of the 3rd respondent herein, a complaint was lodged by the petitioner, which was taken on file in F.I.R.No.381 of 2025, under the caption "woman missing". Since, there was no adequate progress in the investigation, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed. 2.Today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's daughter had voluntarily left her parents' house and had married the 3rd respondent herein on 20.06.2025, at Navagraha Sannidhi, Arakonam, and that she has also given a complaint against the petitioner, seeking for police protection for herself and her

husband. It is also his submission that the petitioner's daughter intends to live with the 3rd respondent herein. Since, the petitioner's daughter is a major and has taken a conscious decision to choose her life partner, it will not be appropriate for this Court to entertain the prayer sought for in the present petition.

3.This Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed accordingly. No costs. [M.S.R, J.] [V.L.N, J.] 04.07.2025 kas Index : Yes / No Speaking / Non speaking To 1.The Commissioner of Police No.132, E.V.K.Sampath Road, Periamet Vepery, Park Town Chennai 600 007
