This application is filed under Section 29 A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 to extend the time limit for conclusion of arbitral proceedings. 2.The applicant states that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of recording evidence. In fact, it is stated that the cross-examination of CW-1 was completed on 27.03.2021. Subsequent thereto, an application was filed to recall the witness after reopening the evidence. It is also stated that efforts were made to settle the dispute amicably and that such efforts also resulted in delaying the proceedings. The present application is filed under these facts and circumstances. 3.The respondents are represented through counsel. The respondents submit that an extension of six months would be necessary to conclude the proceedings. 4.

Upon considering the said submissions and by taking note of the current stage of the arbitral proceedings, the applicant is entitled to an extension of time. 5.Accordingly, A.No.4645 of 2021 is allowed by extending the time limit for conclusion of arbitral proceedings by pronouncing an award in respect thereof by a further period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 13.12.2021 smv SENTHILKUMAR RAMAMOORTHY https://www.mhc.tn.gov.
